U.S. stocks traded higher, led by sectors seen as plays on global growth, as concerns about the euro zone's debt crisis eased.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 78 points, or 0.6%, to 13175 in midmorning trading. The gain put the Dow on pace to start the week with a gain for the first time since May 29, or the Tuesday after the Memorial Day holiday.
