Join MHYP for a Wine Sensory Workshop that is a part of our Continued Education Series.

Done in a short-format experience, this experience includes 4 wines to awaken your senses.  This is not a standard table tasting.  We typically pour 2oz of each wine and showcase how sharing experiences and the mind works to decipher flavor using smell and sensory memory.

Our Sensory Wine Experience Workshops are crafted to help you:

1. Unique Experiences:  The BEW’s experiences are about approachability.  Gain an understanding of your senses and uncover the flavors and aromas that resonate with you.
2. Develop Your Palate: Learn to identify key wine characteristics that make sense to you: Decipher acidity, tannins, and flavor profile.  Learn how to make sense of these for your unique palate.
3. Create unique, lasting memories: Neuroscience tells us that our perception of time is deeply tied to the novelty and richness of our experiences. Engaging in new multi-sensory activities that heighten our senses—like experiencing wine—can stretch our sense of time and ground us in the present moment. Gain valuable insights into pairing wines with food to elevate your dining experiences, whether at home or in a restaurant.
4. Discover Hidden Gems: Enhance your appreciation for the craft of wine and wine-making.
5. Build Confidence: Navigate wine lists, host tastings, and make informed selections with ease and sophistication.

I’m Ed Martin, founder of The Beverage Education Workshop. I specialize in adult beverage educational experiences. With almost 20 years in the beverage alcohol industry, I started a business that creates an approachable beverage experience in small or large group formats. I hold several high-level professional wine certifications (WSET Level 4 Diploma Wine and Spirits, French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Scholar, and a lead instructor for the Wine Education Institute). The Beverage Education Workshop allows people to explore the world of adult beverages (wine is my passion), without any pretense and large time commitment. Think of this as a social-educational experience. We are able to work with other experiences- Scotch, Mezcal/Agave, Bourbon, and even polished cocktail experiences.
