Colorado’s craft brewing industry produces an annual economic impact of $446 million, according to a study released Tuesday that is the first that attempts to quantify what the growing industry sector means to the state.
The Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) contracted with the business research division of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder for the report.
(CBG originally stated that the annual impact of the industry was $714 million. However, CBG officials were forced to retract that number and downgrade the impact by 38 percent, saying they had misinterpreted data given to them by CU and inadvertently double-counted some of the economic numbers.)
