Denver ranks third among large U.S. metropolitan areas for job growth over the 12 months ending in July, according to an analysis by an Arizona State University business professor.

Research professor Lee McPheters of ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business compared non-farm payroll job changes between July 2011 and July 2012 in metro areas with 1 million or more people. He used data from the U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
