The fifth annual State of DIA event held Tuesday at the Denver Performing Arts Complex focused on two things: flights and finances.
Denver International Airport's manager of aviation Kim Day trumpeted new international routes as the greatest sign of growth in her State of the Airport address.
The three new international destinations in 2012 were Reykjavik, Iceland; Mexico City; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
As the world's 11th busiest airport, however, Day and the event's sponsor, Metro Denver Economic Development Corp., said they aim to expand DIA's reach with more global route development in 2013.
