Frontier Airlines
on Saturday began nonstop flights between Denver International Airport and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic -- the first nonstops between DIA and the Caribbean.The weekly seasonal service to the resort area continues through Aug. 4.
Flights leave Denver each Saturday at 8:05 a.m. and arrive in Punta Cana at 3:30 p.m. local time. Returning flights, also on Saturdays, depart 4:20 p.m. and arrive back at DIA at 8:30 p.m.
Frontier is flying 138 seat Airbus 319s on the route.

Frontier said the new route will give the airline 68 nonstop flights from DIA, a record for the Denver-hubbed carrier.
Frontier also flies to several points in Mexico as well as Costa Rica and Jamaica.
