Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will sign a bill Thursday that aims to boost the state’s commercial spaceflight industry.
Senate Bill 35, sponsored by Sen. Mary Hodge, D-Brighton, grants limited liability to spaceflight companies, allowing users who sign waiver forms to sue them only if they are injured as a result of intentional action or gross negligence.
It passed the state Legislature when the House unanimously approved it in March.
The soon-to-be-signed law “will position Colorado to capitalize on significant new opportunities in commercial space transportation,” the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. said in a statement Wednesday.
