The March Table of Ten series featured Adam Schlegel from Snooze. We had a fantastic conversation about food, sustainability, and culture. Some of the key takeaways were:
* Order of Schlegel's priorities in his business are: 1 – people, 2 – planet and 3 – profits.
* Your "why" has to be strong enough to carry your business through tough times. If you have a "why" that’s genuine and you live it, you will not be stopped. Check out this TED talk on the subject: Simon Sinek, How Great Leaders Inspire Action
* Culture is hard to maintain, especially with a large number of employees all over the country. Take your time hiring the right people, and get to know their REAL personality. Schlegel takes all of his managers out for a beer and whiskey before he hires them.
