Jeff Bairstow, president of The Denver Post’s parent companies, is leaving after less than two years to become chief financial officer of Time Inc., parent of Time, People and Sports Illustrated magazines.

Bairstow has been president of Digital First Media since October 2011 under CEO John Paton. The company manages both Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc., which operates The Denver Post, the Boulder Daily Camera and dozens of other newspapers, and another newspaper chain, 21st Century Media (successor to the Journal Register Co.).
