Red Rocks Concertgoers Help the Fight Against Cancer

Love Hope Strength (LHS), the world's leading Rock 'n Roll cancer foundation, has partnered with Red Rocks Amphitheatre for three years and has broken new ground in cancer care by registering concert and film goers to become marrow donors.

To date, LHS has registered nearly 5,000 people to become marrow donors at Red Rocks concerts and Film on the Rocks. One hundred twenty six matches nationwide have been found, 37 of them from Red Rocks! Last week, two new Red Rocks donors were found from last summer's John Prine concert and "The Lost Boys" Film on the Rocks screening.

The on-site test is easy and painless, all it takes is a cheek swab. If a match is made, donors complete an outpatient procedure at Denver's Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital, the largest transplant center in the region. Stem cells are then shipped off to save someone anywhere in the world. In many cases, donors even get the chance to meet the person whose life was saved.

Look for the LHS booths again this summer at Red Rocks. Who knows, you just may save someone's life.
