There are many ways to play; with friends old and new, family members, coworkers, classmates, teammates, clients, members of your community, dating interests, and even yourself. The card game has been adopted by Universal Music Australia (featuring celebrities such as Keith Urban and Lorde), the U.S. State Department, the LA Lakers G Team, and even has led to a marriage proposal!

About Big Talk:

Big Talk is a communication approach that facilitates meaningful connections in life—with family, friends, coworkers, strangers, and even oneself—through the process of skipping small talk to ask more open-ended and thought-provoking questions. In turn, Big Talk elicits responses that help people build relationships and share their life stories. Big Talk is a video series, a card game, an educational and business tool, a government-funded international Fulbright research project, and a powerful platform that encourages people to share their most profound thoughts, feelings, and life stories—making their voices heard.

Big Talk’s Goal:

The goal of Big Talk is to enhance interpersonal communication, respect people’s differences while honoring the commonalities of human experiences, and serve as a platform to build empathy across boundaries of difference.
